Abstract

This study was started because the Grade VIII students at MTs Mutiara Al Qur’an had low agility levels, which was because their physical education lessons were not varied. The goal of this research was to see how using zig-zag running with cones could help improve students’ agility. The study used a quantitative method with a pretest and posttest for one group. There were 15 students in the study, chosen through purposive sampling. To collect data, the Illinois Agility Run Test was used, and the results were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a paired sample t-test. The results showed that agility improved a lot, as the average time went down from 22.12 seconds before the training to 19.66 seconds after. The statistical test showed a t-value of 13.52, which was higher than the t-table value of 2.145 (p < 0.05). This means that using cones for zig-zag running training had a big effect on improving agility. So, using cone-based zig-zag training can be a good and useful method in physical education classes.
