This study aims to analyze the relationship between physical fitness and futsal athletes’ performance. The background of this research is based on the high physical demands of futsal, a sport played at a fast tempo, high intensity, and within limited space. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving 15 futsal athletes selected through purposive sampling, namely those who regularly participated in training at least three times per week. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings revealed that physical fitness is strongly related to futsal performance, covering endurance, muscle strength, agility, speed, and decision-making during matches. Athletes with good physical condition were able to maintain consistent performance, reduce technical errors, and stay focused under pressure. Furthermore, physical fitness also influenced psychological aspects, such as self-confidence and mental composure during competition. These results highlight that futsal performance is not solely determined by technical skills but is also a reflection of integrated physical and mental readiness. In conclusion, physical fitness plays a fundamental role in shaping futsal athletes’ performance in terms of technical, tactical, and psychological aspects. Therefore, structured, systematic, and continuous fitness training programs are essential to improve the quality of play and competitiveness of futsal athletes.
